About Mason Filippi
Mason Filippi – Professional Racecar Driver | Factory Hyundai Driver | Founder of OpenFender
Mason Filippi is a factory driver for Hyundai and one of North America’s top-performing road racers, known for his speed, racecraft, and consistency. Competing with Bryan Herta Autosport in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Mason has also raced in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (where he secured a class win in 2024), and made select appearances in the NASCAR Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series.
Since 2023, Mason has continued to elevate his career — In 2023, he earned 12 podiums, 2 victories, and finished in the top 5 in 85% of all races. In 2024, he claimed one of the most iconic endurance wins of his career: a class victory at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. His versatility behind the wheel makes him a valuable asset in everything from sprint touring cars to grueling endurance races and high-profile road course events in NASCAR.
Mason’s racing journey began with dirt bikes before transitioning to karting at age 11 and then Spec Miata by 14. Working side-by-side with his father in the garage, he developed not just driving skills, but a deep understanding of car mechanics—an edge he carries to this day.
Off track, Mason is the founder of OpenFender.com, a platform built to support racers through fan engagement, sponsorship tools, and easy-to-launch merchandise stores. Since launching the platform, he’s helped thousands of racers—from grassroots to pro—secure funding, build their brands, and take control of their racing careers.
Mason also coaches up-and-coming drivers in series like TC America and Ferrari Challenge, combining technical feedback with a racer’s mindset to elevate their performance.
Driven by a clear vision for the future, Mason has his sights set on winning the IMSA WeatherTech Championship, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and returning to Spa and Daytona in GT3 machinery. Whether racing, building tools for the motorsports community, or mentoring the next generation, Mason is committed to pushing the sport forward—on and off the track.
