Filippi Sweeps Laguna Seca with Pole, Win, and Fastest Lap; Raises $17,000 for Hyundai Hope on Wheels

MONTEREY, Calif. — Mason Filippi and Bryan Herta Autosport produced a flawless performance at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend, sweeping pole position, the race win, and fastest lap in Round 3 of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge — and raising $17,000 for Hyundai Hope on Wheels in the process.

It was a clean sweep of the weekend's three biggest accolades, an achievement that's among the rarest and most coveted in sports car racing. Filippi set the tone Saturday morning, putting the No.33 Hyundai Elantra N TCR on pole with a commanding qualifying lap around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn circuit. From the front row, Filippi and co-driver Bryson Morris controlled the race from start to finish, converting the pole into a lights-to-flag victory before Filippi capped the day by setting the fastest lap of the race. "This is the kind of weekend you dream about as a driver," Filippi said. "Pole, win, and fastest lap at a track like Laguna Seca — that doesn't happen without an entire team executing at the highest level. The car was on rails from the first session, the strategy was perfect, and our pit stop was clean. Massive credit to everyone at Bryan Herta Autosport and Hyundai for giving us the tools to do this." Beyond the trophies, the weekend carried meaning that extended well past the checkered flag. The result helped raise $17,000 for Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the manufacturer's flagship charity supporting pediatric cancer research and the families of children fighting the disease. "Every time we go racing for Hyundai, we're racing for more than results," Filippi added. "Hope on Wheels is one of the most meaningful programs in motorsport, and being able to deliver a win that puts $17,000 toward childhood cancer research is what makes this weekend truly special." The victory continues Bryan Herta Autosport's strong run of form in 2026 and reinforces the Hyundai Elantra N TCR's status as a benchmark in the TCR class. The team now turns its attention to Mid Ohio Round 4, where Filippi and Bryan Herta Autosport will look to carry the momentum from Monterey.
